The December issue of Pride hits the shelves round about now and features Hollywood hottie Zoe Saldana on the cover – isn’t she lovely? The actress is set to star in the forthcoming James Cameron directed sci-fi blockbuster Avatar, and talks to Pride about her role, embracing her Black Latina roots, and not wanting to be viewed as a ‘black sexpot’ (Pah! We’re not sure if we believe you on that one Zo’s). Other articles to look out for include a discussion about the BNP post Question Time, the British recolonizing the Turks and Caicos, as well as interviews with the Editor of Now magazine, Abigail Blackburn, and Secret Millionaire star Caroline Marsh.
Ensure you pick up a copy, I think we've put together a great issue this month.

Can't stand Zoe Saldana.I've read too many interviews where she'll call herself anything but a 'BLACK' Latina and how she doesn't want to talk about colour/race ,and now that a black magazine wants to put her third rate acting behind on their front cover, suddenly she's 'black' latina as opposed to her normal 'I'm part Dominican, irish whatever whatever...' puh-lease.
blah.
Interesting comments. I do see where you're coming from though. It always amazes me that in this day and age black people in the public eye are still so quick to dismiss their blackness fearing it will be a stumbling block in their career trajectory. Clearly Zoe looks like a black woman. So whether she's part Irish, or whatever seems irrelevant really.
Why are black actors always trying to distance themselves from their community.
I liked her in Star Trek though. She is a 'sexpot'.
